Thailand's Nakhon Pathom region is welcoming the Thailand International Jazz Conference 2012 to the area next month, offering an array of jazz-themed events and performances.

To be held between January 27th and 29th at the Mahidol University College of Music, the event combines a series of concerts by leading international musicians with workshops and lessons for aspiring jazz practitioners.

Performers this year include the likes of the Benny Green Trio, the Marcus Strickland Quartet and the Robert Knop Quartet, as well as local artists such as Tewan Sapsanyakorn and Cherryl Hayes.

Meanwhile, the educational portion of the conference will allow attendees to learn a range of tips and techniques from great jazz masters, as well as shopping for instruments and books or taking part in a special solo competition.

The daytime clinics run each day between 10:00 and 18:00 local time, while the evening concerts run from 18:30 to 23:00.

Tickets cost 500 baht (£10.30) for each round of events, or 2,000 baht for the complete three-day package.

Attendees will find the venue at 25/25 Phutthamonthon Sai 4 Road, Salaya, not far from tourist spots such as Buddhamonthon Park and the Don Wai floating market.
