Notts County FC Announces First Player of the Month
Released on: October 22, 2010, 5:44 am Notts County midfielder, Ben Davies, has been named the club’s first player of the month for his performance throughout September. Ben, 29, picked up his prize, a luxury Co-operative food hamper, from the Club’s preferred car supplier, The Co-operative Motor Group, one of the leading car dealerships in the UK. A prestigious award for any footballer to receive, Davies was nominated by the club’s coaches, and voted for by the fans, Ben has so far this season scored seven goals including a brace against high-flying Peterborough United. He joined the club in 2009 and has since been an outstanding contributor to the team’s success. Player of the Month awards that are decided by fans often mean so much to players as it is those that come to support the team each week that have recognised the efforts that Davies has put in during September. He said: “I am delighted to claim the award from the Co-operative Motor Group.
