Monitoring from chip to chiller

Released on: August 11, 2008, 8:22 am

Press Release Author: Advanced Network Engineering Consultants

Industry: Energy

Press Release Summary: ANEC have added new features to OnCall their flagship product
for monitoring critical facilities status, energy consumption and performance

Press Release Body: OnCall will automatically collect, monitor, record, trend,
report, validate and alert critical systems including IT, telecoms and
infrastructure facilities such as air conditioning, heating and utilities. The
latest release includes features for remote branch office monitoring which allows
centralised monitoring of distributed facilities.

In a recent installation in the pharmaceutical sector forty remote depots were
monitored The ability to escalate alarms in a hierarchical fashion ensures that
messages are only directed to the relevant individual for action.

Other application areas include data centres, health care premises and refrigeration
installations where energy consumption, environmetal conditions and product quality
all need constant monitoring.

As awareness grows of the need to protect critical assets, as part of business
continuity and disaster recovery plans, the demand for automated monitoring systems
is growing significantly. When combined with new wireless sensor network
technologies it has now become economically feasible to monitor in depth and with
great flexibility where previously the costs of wiring were prohibitive.
