In the past several years, Automated Girth Weld Inspection, using ultrasonic
methods, has begun to supplant radiography for pipeline weld inspection around the
world. AUT offers superior inspection detection and sizing capabilities while
reducing the reject rate. This result is due to being able to perform extreme
criticality analysis. Hybrid analysis is available as the system features a
combination of conventional and phased array ultrasonic functionality; thus offering
an inspection solution that is not compromised by a single technique. This high
