Press Release Summary: Board’s First Major Task is New Quarters

Press Release Body: Tualatin, OR: After a few years of dwindling board membership,
the Tualatin School House Food Pantry gained new life with the enlistment of seven
new board members. The two remaining board members, Mike Shiffer and Linda Moholt
actively recruited from the Pantry’s volunteer pool, the local community and the
Tualatin Chamber of Commerce.

Currently located at the site of the old Tualatin Elementary School on Boones Ferry
Road, it is projected that in July the property will be sold and the Pantry will
have to move to a new undetermined location.

According to Moholt, “The Pantry is facing an emergency this summer with a potential
eviction from our current location. Considering there were only three members of
the board and one wasn’t returning, we had to think fast. We looked for people who
were already committed to making a difference in our community and we asked them to
join.”

The new members of the Board of Directors, in addition to Moholt and Shiffer, are:
Mike Weaver, Cheryl Dorman, Matt Bratschi, Laura Spurrell, Ted Weitman, Shirley
Johnson, Laura Hundtoft and Eileen Eakins. The officers of the board are Mike
Shiffer, Linda Moholt, Laura Spurrell and Cheryl Dorman as president, vice
president, secretary and treasurer, respectively.

“We have very big plans for the future and we are very excited to have such
dedicated individuals to build the Tualatin School House Food Pantry into an even
greater organization for our community,” said Shiffer.

The Tualatin School House Food Pantry works closely with the Oregon Food Bank and
serves an average of 360 families per month, an increase of over 25 percent from
last year. With more than 500 volunteer hours worked per month, it is made up
entirely of volunteers and is supported by the entire community: faith, business,
schools, social and civic organizations and individuals. For additional
