Providence Ward 8 Democrats endorse Barack Obama Encourage all to vote on March 4th

Press Release Summary: The Providence 8th Ward Democratic Committee has formally
endorsed Senator Barack Obama for U.S. President.


Press Release Body: ( Providence , RI USA ) Senator Barack Obama, candidate for
U.S. President has been formally endorsed by the Providence 8th Ward Democratic
Committee following a poll conducted by Chairman Wilbur W. Jennings.

Reasons cited for endorsing Obama include commitments he has made to strengthen
Public Schools and maximize the country\'s greatest resource - The American people; a
comprehensive reform of immigration; affordable universal health care; his economic
agenda, renewable energy; and his foreign policy.

The 8th Ward Committee endorsed Obama by a vote of 9 to 2 joining others including
Providence Council members Luis Aponte (Ward 10), Terry Hassett (Ward 12), Kevin
Jackson (Ward 3), Miguel Luna (Ward 9), Cliff Wood (Ward 2), Seth Yurdin (Ward 1),
and U.S. Congressman Patrick Kennedy, Former U.S. Senator Lincoln Chafee, Former Lt
Governor Charlie Fogarty, Rep. Joseph Almeida, Rep. David Segal and Rep. John
McCauley.

The Rhode Island Primary Election is Tuesday, March 4th and Jennings advises that
anyone who needs information or assistance to vote in ward 8 to contact his
