Revolutionary Property Marking System Now Available to US Crime Prevention Initiatives

Released on: January 15, 2008, 9:54 am

Press Release Author: Skyclad-Eye

Industry: Law

Press Release Summary: Skyclad-Eye today announced the latest innovation in
community crime prevention initiatives: DNA-based Property Security Products.

Press Release Body: Skyclad-Eye today announced the latest innovation in property
protection, the DNA-based Property Security Products. This family of products is
designed to increase the likelihood of recovering and verifying the proper ownership
of valuables. This proprietary invisible ink embedded with specific sequenced DNA
strands dramatically increases the odds that stolen property is returned to its
proper owner.

Imagine, if marked possessions are lost or stolen then recovered, the items can be
scanned under ordinary UV light to reveal the identifying marks and prove the proper
ownership or legitimacy.

“Local law enforcement agencies are always interested in finding ways to help their
citizens recover stolen property. In the past, they have recommended “etching”
engravers. While effective, they would leave permanent, visible marks that many
users were hesitant to use,” said Tom Branson, Senior Vice President at
Skyclad-Eye.

“Through exclusive DNA UV marking, the citizen can invisibly mark their valuables,
increasing the probability of identifying the rightful owner of the valuables and
increasing conviction rates. This permanent and non-damaging marking system can
increase community buy-in to programs like Operation I.D.”

This technically advanced system consists of patented ultra-violet ink embedded with
specific sequenced DNA strands. Citizens mark items with a permanent ID and their
fingerprint. The unique forensic fingerprint fluoresces under ultraviolet light that
police use as standard, and is virtually impossible to completely remove. Even if
the markings are discovered and scrubbed, traces of fluorescing DNA remain in
crevices and uneven surfaces.

We welcome agency inquiries about enhancing community crime prevention initiatives.
