The obvious answer is “yes”. Richard Long indicates the TDC’s focus as, “The ultimate goal, the money we spend is to get visitors in to stay overnight.” This goal and their efforts have helped drive visitors here over the years, just compare what this area was like in 1991 to now. But, what can be done in today’s real estate climate to bring real estate buyers to this area, not just vacationers?

In the past, it has been up to the individual real estate agents to promote the area, attract buyers and permanent residents to the area. While the real estate market has benefited from the promotional efforts of the TDC, it is clear that the TDC’s focus is not on promoting the life style Destin – Ft. By utilizing some of the same promotional efforts that the TDC uses, the Fam Trips and the article syndication, the Destin Real Estate Mastermind Group hopes to get the word out about this area and its real estate prime for buying. Dedicating and pooling their resources, the top real estates agents in this area, are attempting to do what seems like the impossible in today’s real estate climate, promote this area as the place to “buy and live”, not just to “come and play”.
