Press Release Body = BLACK INTELLECTS’ FOUNDATION LAUNCHES NEW WEBSITE WITH OVER
$2000 ESSAY CONTESTS.
The Black Intellects’ International is sponsoring an essay contest for all students
worldwide. Over $2000 will be awarded to the best essay authors.

BACKGROUND
Conflict whether neighborhood crime and violence, civil war or war between two
countries is often both a cause and a consequence of poverty. Research shows that
the combination of poverty, economic decline and dependence on exporting natural
resources drives conflict across all regions. Many of the poorest countries are
locked in a vicious circle in which poverty causes conflict and conflict causes
poverty.

QUESTION
What is the relationship between conflict and poverty? Explain why introducing
conflict resolution practices into poverty-alleviation programs are important.
Discuss the institutional dimensions of development and conflict which are seen as
paramount, as ignoring them may lead to a vicious circle, a sort of \"catch-22\" from
which developing countries have no escape.

ELIGIBILITY
Must be a STUDENT to apply AND must be enrolled in a school as of the contest
